IBM – IOT

IBM Watson™ Internet of Things (IoT) Platform provides simple, but powerful application access to IoT devices and data to help companies rapidly compose analytics applications, visualization dashboards and mobile applications which fully utilize the connectivity and ubiquity of the Internet of Things. Users can easily connect devices from chips to intelligent appliances to their applications and industry solutions. They can then perform device management functions, scale through cloud-based services, and use rich analytics to gain insight and achieve organizational transformation.

The IoT is transforming business. As much as 90 percent of all data generated by devices such as smartphones, tablets, connected vehicles and appliances is never analyzed or acted on. IBM enables businesses to transform their industry with new services, offerings and sources of revenue.

Fire Prevention Services

Administrative services, research, and consultation services are provided where matters related to fire prevention expertise are required. We respond to questions that may require coordination with the authorities for Occupational Safety & Health, Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Response, Maintenance, and Facility Management.  The fire safety awareness information provided is used to motivate all personnel to develop good fire prevention and protection habits, to recognize and eliminate fire hazards in their respective work areas, and know how to report fires and to be familiar with emergency evacuation procedures.

Environmental Services

At CMC, data is collected from various monitoring equipment locations.  Data Analysts review the collected data and direct maintenance activities when required.  All significant changes in flow patterns are then reported to operations. Site report updates regarding flow monitor locations and other hydraulic changes are supplied. Information is maintained through a service database, which results in the regular submittals of scheduled Service History Reports.  The reports include the nature of the service performed and any parts replaced during the previous period.  The information in the databases is used to research and develop enhancements to monitor and sensor reliability.

IBM Showcase

In our experience, Emergency Management requires a well-planned process and the ability to properly execute a strategy that addresses unexpected events. The four main focus areas include mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

Mitigation lessens the force or intensity of a disaster by reducing risks through analysis, training, regulations, local ordinances, land use and building practices.

Preparedness is a state of readiness, that predicts and where possible, prevents disasters, and mitigates their impact on vulnerable populations, responds to, and effectively copes with their consequences.

An emergency response focuses on a systematic response to an unexpected or dangerous occurrence. The goal of an emergency response procedure is to mitigate the impact of the event on people and the environment through the mobilization of first responders and emergency management personnel.

The final stage is recovery, which attempts to restore the affected area to a normal state. In recovery the goal is also to reduce similar risks from occurring in the future
